    JULY 2023     The Summer 2023 Team  We had an incredible Summer! These past 8-weeks of programming, we shared time with 17 Youth Ambassadors and over 200 visiting Youth! We continued to provide our Mental Health Mondays with  NewVision Behavioral Health  every Monday, along with twice-monthly  Mindful Movement  with Clayton Sizemore and art programming with  NOMAD Studios . We also welcomed Chef McCray for several workshops with our ambassadors covering herbs/spices and utilizing what we’re growing to create delicious dishes. Our 4th of July was so much fun. Early morning, we were at the  St. Pete Run Fest  Pier Run to support our partners by holding down the fort at the Cool Down Station. Water and Gatorade at the ready, cooling down runners with water guns, and creating a fun atmosphere with chalk art and bubbles! Pinellas African American Heritage Celebration - Feb 26th

The AFRA Pinellas group had a wonderful time at the Pinellas African American Heritage Celebration!  There was a lot of booths, shops, music, and art to see plus some delicious food trucks.  We met a lot of new friends and hope to see them at future AFRA meetings!   Amity = A friendly relationship   We are advocates for race amity in Pinellas County.  We are from a variety of races and faith traditions.  We work to increase understanding, caring, friendship and collaboration between races.  We invite you to collaborate on this most vital and challenging issue. National Race Amity Day - Proclamations and Celebrations 2021!

  Several groups, communities, and governments (including our home of Pinellas County) gave official proclamations for Race Amity Day in June 2021.  Scroll below through these proud achievements and some additional examples of Race Amity Day celebrations that were held in our communities.  A big shout out goes to some of our very own AFRA members for the work they put into obtaining their local proclamations!
